The Dreamy Camera

So I had this wonderful dream last night. I had gotten my intended new camera and took some amazing macro pictures with it. I screwed up with apertures at first but got the hang of it eventually. But well, I haven’t much told anyone but Valentine about this camera! I finally decided that my camera phone just isn’t enough, I hate it’s auto-focus and the lack of macro. It takes decent pics outdoors, but I’ve now tried several times to shoot my first real photostory and the pics just come out blurry and awful… So, getting a decent tax-return in December I’m going to splurge on a real camera.

A DSLR is a bit out of my league though (and out of my price range) so I had to do some research to find a camera with enough manual settings but still affordable. I need a camera with good (enough) macro shoot properties (just the macro mode is sufficient for now I think), a possibility to manually set at least ISO, aperture and focus (but also auto-settings are welcome when I take pictures of other things besides dolls) and a price under 500€.

I finally stumbled on Canon PowerShot S90. All I need! At least I think, I’m not that good with the technicalities just yet. And it’s very compact so I can take it with me if I need to. It got good reviews though and I’m hoping the prize might just come down a bit more in the fall as it’s a year old. Doesn’t come in pink or any other nice color, but I can live with that ;)
